Hi,

I was looking at getting the Innotab Max to replace the daughters innotab 2 (with the custom firmware - thank you very much guys)

I see that the max is running on android, has anyone considered / explored whether we could rip whatever app layer software they are using to read the old style games?

There must be some kind of translation software on the device to convert from old game language to android? or maybe even a full blown emulator for android on the device? If that was the case, and it can be ripped, I could get her a standard tab device and still let her play all her games ;-))

Alternatively, as its android now, can you image the entire device and run it virtually? say through the AVD or bluestacks type devices? If so I would happy to image and send it to someone for 'experiments'

It's most likely to be a wrapper or an API compatibility layer of sorts, considering as lower-end Innotabs run on ARM anyway.
