Leap Pad Manager

Simply FTP to your device and copy them off. It should be pretty easy to figure out, but don't want to go into details because it can easily lead to piracy Smile

Question
Just wanted to THANK YOU sooooooo much for this program. My 9 yr old autistic son believes I can move mountains now. I've been able to create custom videos from all his favorite YouTube channels for his Leappad 2. (Granted, HE is the one that found the Leap Pad Manager on his own, and told me about it.) I'm pretty sure in a few more years he'll be capable to hack his stuff properly on his own. So again, thanks so much for this program.  Heart  Angel

Now, as I've said, I have had no issues with the program when grabbing video off of YouTube. However, I'm still unable to figure out how to drag & drop files I've already got on my computer. I've tried the whole "start program as normal user" & "start program as admin". Every time I get the 'no go' cursor. Any other ideas as to what I can change/fix to make the drag & drop feature work?  Idea

Thanks,
TrueXena

It is most likely due to the UAC disabling it or something like that. Do you have the latest version and it still does that? I have seen others fix that issue by actually logging onto the computer as Administrator. You would have to enable that account and then log off and back on though. I'd just use the Install apps from 'install' feature since that is the easiest and should work fine until I can implement a file open feature so you can open them that way rather than drag / drop.

Updated the software to allow browsing files to install. Hopefully this works better then the drag / drop. You will find the option in the menu.

really not sure what is going on w/my daughters leappad ultra. I installed this software earlier tonight and after some playing around with it got a video converted from youtube and installed on the tablet with this software. I went back to try and put some more movies on it and started getting connection errors, then the device just went kablooy. I have tried running the repair and reset options from leapfrog connect and that is not working. It boots fine but when it gets to where the menus should be its a blank screen. Now in the connect program it looks like it is recognizing the device as a leappad w/2gig instead of an ultra with 8gig.

I don't know if the issue is because of the software or some other completely unrelated issue. As a developer myself I know not to instantly lay blame but I wanted to share this experience incase anyone else runs into the same issues after using this to install movies and so this the bug could be identified.

That is very strange indeed. Transferring movies to the device would not cause that kind of behavior. It would be interesting to see the bootup logs if you had a serial connection to the device. This program reports the type of LeapPad simply by checking for certain items and by the firmware meta.inf file on the device. It almost sounds like your Ultra has a LP1 firmware on it or something. My software does not do anything with the firmware. Did you buy this tablet used or new?

Great software. Kudos to you! I was wondering though if anyone can help me with my problem. I have windows 8.1 and cannot for the life of me get drag and drop working to create a custom video for my Leap Pad 2. I've tried running in admin mode, disabling UAC nothing seems to work. I don't know how to run in non-admin mode. Anyone that can provide me with some steps would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!
