Custom Videos won't play
#1
Hi,

I previously posted in the wrong section so I've opened up a new thread. Sorry for the fragmented posts.

Using the LeapPadManager LFConnect software and ffmpeg, I have successfully created some custom videos and icons.
I have copied the zip files to my LeapPad, which sees the video app, but upon opening them on the Pad them they just show a black screen.
I have tried to copy some of the videos from the Downloads page, such as the Frozen ones, and the same problem occurs. Clearly I'm doing something wrong.

Do I need a video player on the Pad? Do I need an existing Video app on the Pad to overwrite with the same filename?

Thank you for your help.

Ah yea, you will need a video player installed before they will play. You can hook up your Leap Pad to the official connect software and have it update the device, then try again. I think it might have it in a newer firmware. If not, I can try to remember to post it when I get home today.

Thanks for making a new thread.

THANK YOU!!

I took a brand new Pad out of the box and connected to The official LeapFrog software but there were no updates.

I was looking at the LeapFrog App Centre Store recently and noted the mp3 App and all the comments regarding that mp3 compatibility should be built-in. At least that is what it says on the box.
It was then that it dawned on me that video compatibility might not be built-in either.
Can't wait to give this a go.

Thank you again.

I have not messed with the mp3 stuff much on them because my kids mostly just like using the apps and videos so I never bothered.

Actually I am not sure if the public release of the software will be able to install the music player since it only allows custom apps to be installed. I will see about modifying the code and releasing an update when I get home

Edit: nevermind, looks like I had already coded support for it so it should install.
