well it is pretty easy to do and anyone could do it. I could most likely create a script that would do it for you and auto patch, but would need to be run on linux with squash commands available.

Maybe when you get some extra time make the script and a tutorial on what to install and how to do it I have some experience in booting Linux from a thumb drive on my windows laptop so if I can do that and I would definitely try it I just don't want to brick my sons innotab.

I simply use Ubuntu inside a Virtual Machine to do my patching from my Windows machine. I did post the steps and commands to do your own patching. Yes it is risky and even it is possible for me to make a mistake which could brick the device. Flashing even with a good firmware is risky though and there have been a few that had a good firmware from the site, but it still bricked. This is possible due to a bad SD card or getting corrupted while copying, incomplete download etc.

No rush but was wondering if you are going to get time to mod that backup today my son uses it at night and would like to be able to play his games again. If not its ok he can wait lol. Thx

Easiest way is to compare a non modded firmware to the modded one and you will see the difference. There have been a few posts about it. The file is called RunOnce or something like that I believe. It is only 1 file to edit.
