Just download any latest modded firmware for any version. You will need to compare the 2 files to ensure the only edits are the ones to enable running apps from the SD. If there are other code edits, you can't just swap the files or you could brick it.

good idea so i did that and downloaded the UK firmware that is already modded and used the backup file that Corelulos uploaded and opened both Run_once files and scanned thru them and did see any changes in them they were both the same i want to mod my sons tablet but i dont want to brick it

I found this different in RunApp file not sure if this is what i need to edit tho and i dont want to brick it

I think ill just wait for your modded firmware or maybe the Script you were talking about i dont want to mess anything up

Yea that is it. It is pretty easy if you are familiar with programming at all. You can see the first 4 lines or so after the comment are removed and replaced with some SD mounting code. The closing if statement also has to be removed at the end since the if is removed. I will try to patch it this weekend.

Thank you i would like to know how to do it myself i just dont want to mess anything up so if you had a script that edited the file for me or just a simple tutorial step by step on how to do it myself then it would be easy

Well i couldnt wait anymore so i did it myself but i didnt know what you meant by "b) Flash the firmware by modding one of the flashing scripts (you could just rename your file that of the hacked firmware, and remove the check in the script that looks for RunApp~ and says the firmware has already been patched)" i downloaded the 3s_UK_v52.50312-MOD file then deleted the file and used my US backup to mod the file then when i had my modded backup file i just renamed it to 3s_UK_v52.50312-MOD but its a US v52.50312 i flashed it and everything is working great and all the games work again. thx for all the help you gave me with letting me know what to do. one question i have is how do you do that last step without taking the shortcut i did.

Great job, sorry I have been busy lately so I have not had a chance to do it. You basically just do what you did, but not rename the firmware file, but instead you edit the run script and put your firmware information into it. That is it.

Well i updated the my_run file with the correct name and changed the file name back to the correct name so if you want to post it on the site and get rid of the backup file on the first post of the thread. 3s_US_v52.50312-MOD
