Can't run games on innotab (not unitid problem)
#1
Hi

So I've got 2 innotab 3s units. I've got the unit ID for both.

Now the issue I have is one of the tablets won't play games from the games folder (ie angry birds) but the other will.

Both tablets will play backup cartridges fine.

I have 2 innopad_wf.db files one for each unit ID. I know which is which because one of the tablets has a missing USB cover so I append the file name to nocover or covered.

I know it's the right ID otherwise the backup cartridges won't load.

They both have the exact same structure and we're both updated and flashed with the same cable and files etc (the difference being the innopad_wf.db having the right unit ID)

There is a slight deviation in content on some of the games but most are the same game but unless it's a cartridge in .bin format it refuses to play it.

I'm at a loss as to what it could be.

Are you certain the tablet was flashed with a modified firmware? The cartridge .bin files will play even if it is not flashed and possibly even the wrong unitEID. You said you are certain it is correct, but I would check those 2 things again.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I can confirm I have the correct unitEID (transfered a song and played it etc)

I manually entered the data for the execute app into my innopadd_wf.db file, with the unitEID. It will run but will say that it has already been patched and will reboot in 10 seconds.

Also I am using the exact same files that I downloaded for the other innotab (same firmware and both are 3s units purchased on the same day for the same price)

I've figured out the problem.

Everything was fine the problem was with the SD card.

I had a think about what was different and 1i thought it could be the card because although the files were the same the card is different. I loaded the "faulty" innopad_wf.db onto the "working" LLN folder and put that card in the innotab that wasn't working and it loaded everything up like the other.

I dug out an old android phone with a 2gb sd card and formatted it transferred the files over for the "faulty" 3s and both tablets now work with carts and games.

Thanks for your help.

glad you got it figured out. Good thing you didn't brick the device with a bad SD card. A few people have done that.
