It's quite a manual process although I don't see why someone can't automate this (I'm not a dev, just a tinkerer).
The apps appear in the Games section or in the Other section under Downloads if you want it there. You can also easily put new video's in there too.
Yes, this is what I've done, and now I have full access to any games in the innotab gameshelf app.
Problem to automation this one is that the DB is encryped and the lib for the windows distribution is not free. (SQLCipher)
Once you have acces to the DB, you can fairly easily add inputs for "normal" android games, by adding entries in the table named "full". The "category" field must be filled with "GAME" if you want this one to be available in the gameshelf, or "VIDEO" for vids, "EBOOK" for ebooks.
Or if you put it as "Other" then it appears in the downloads app in the Other tab which is where I've put YouTube.

For instance... the LeapPad Ultra has an encrypted database, but has functions that are used to install games, so you could simply run those commands to update the database and the tablet itself does the importing of the database.
I wouldn't have a clue. I'm no dev, I've just been playing about with the DB and posting my results on the XDA forum under my wolverine_2k username. Would be great if a dev could one day work this out. For the time being I have all the apps on there that I want. The last thing I'd like to figure out how to do is put all the cartridge games into the Games tab to prevent having to swap/carry around cartridges.
