The second one wouldn't work because you are trying to connect to yourself. It is possible the Platinum connects differently. I do not have one to mess with. You can try changing the IP of the lan adapter to something else. 192.168.0.x where x is anything from 2-255 and then try connecting to the IP you chose in filezilla.

If you have a soldering iron and have any prior experience with it, you may be ok. I assume the carts would have the same pinout on the platinum, but can't say for sure unless you tried it.

i do know my way around a soldering iron. ill have to look for a cheap cart to do it with. My son would probably throw a tantrum if i did it to one of his. I assume since there are many cartridge games that work across most leappads, i could use one of them instead of a cart specific for the platinum?

yea any old cart should be fine as long as it fits in it.

just picked up a game for 7$ off ebay, when i get it i will solder it. not sure what to do after that but hopefully i can get all the information you need.

sweet, remember you need a USB -> Serial cable as well.

Yea, I am unsure since I don't know a whole lot about the cables. You could pop into the IRC and ask mick if it would work. He is the one that gave me the link to the cable when I got mine.
