You will need to populate the Optional ffmpeg commands field with the appropriate values to increase the volume.  I didn't bother to integrate it into the app easily, but there is an example just below the input that will increase the volume.  "-af volume=1.5" Just add that into the field without the quotes and that should increase it.  If it is still too quiet, try a larger value.  I can't remember what the values mean, but I believe a 3 would be 3 times as loud.  Find a value that is louder but does not distort the audio.  Also I am unsure if the latest version uses the same input for increasing the volume so if that does not work, you may need to research on the correct command to increase the volume for your version.  It should be the same though.

What I would do is convert the movie a few times and each time change the volume and rename the video as such "Movie - Audio 1.5.mp4" "Movie - Audio 2.mp4" etc and then you can try them out and see which one is best.

  1. Download the Software HERE
  2. Run the software and go to the LeapPad menu then Video Maker
  3. Find a video you want to use on your PC and drag / drop it onto the software in step 1
  4. Enter in the details you want and click the Convert Video button
  5. While it is converting, you can do step 7 and edit the icons specified to reflect your video and save them with the same names overwriting the existing ones.
  6. Once the video is done, click the Create App button and it will put all the files into a .tar file.
  7. You can close the Video Creator app so you are back to the main LeapPad Manager app.
  8. Connect your LeapPad to your PC and ensure the official Connect software is not running.
  9. In the custom LeapPad Manager software, go to LeapPad / Connect and it should connect to your device and display some info in the log window
  10. Simply drag / drop your video .tar file to the program to install it.

Please be aware that the app needs administrator privileges so it can scan the devices and find the LeapPad. You can right click on the device and choose run as administrator.  In order to drag/drop to the app, you may need to adjust your UAC or disable it.

If you are still unable to connect to the device, you may need to disable the Leapfrog Connect Device Service and ensure you are not in developer mode.

If the videos do not play, you need to install the video player which you can find here http://www16.zippyshare.com/v/77880182/file.html

The latest software v1.8.0 has been uploaded and will auto check if you need the video player. It also has ffmpeg included. If I start running into bandwidth issues, it will be removed.

Deak,
Given multiple Windows installations and LeapPad Manager updates since I started using your wonderful program, my custom video Product/Package IDs are all over the place.
Is there any chance you could have your program spit out the ID number as well as the name when reading the meta.inf files please? This would be of great help.

Thanks in advance.

I will look into it snipa. The LP Platinum was never tested or built in to the device, but if its working for you then great. It just won't have a specific profile for it.

I thought that I coded a way to spit out a list of titles and ID's. Maybe that was just for me. Anyway I will look into it today and let you know.

Are you connected to WiFi between uploading the video.and trying to play it? Is the video icon shown on the home page?
