Hello Deak Phreak, Thanks for the wonderful information. This works perfect on my Leappad2.
However, on my Ultra... The files download and install, I see the movie app. But when I click on it the screen goes black and then goes back to the home page and the APP is missing!
Do you know whats going on?
Perhaps is the Ultra locked down?
Any assistance is appreciated.

Please be aware that the app needs administrator privileges so it can scan the devices and find the LeapPad. You can right click on the device and choose run as administrator. In order to drag/drop to the app, you may need to adjust your UAC or disable it.
If you are still unable to connect to the device, you may need to disable the Leapfrog Connect Device Service and ensure you are not in developer mode.
If the videos do not play, you need to install the video player which you can find here http://www16.zippyshare.com/v/77880182/file.html
The latest software v1.8.0 has been uploaded and will auto check if you need the video player. It also has ffmpeg included. If I start running into bandwidth issues, it will be removed.

I have not had any issues with the Ultra playing custom videos. I don't believe the video player is the same and the Ultra should have one built in so it is not necessary to install it. I don't remember if you can just create a video like on the LP2 and install it or if the Ultra requires something else. I do believe it is the same though.

Just wanted to first off say hi, and thanks for the amazing stuff you have done getting all this delicious cake from the LeapPad Ultra, sadly, this LeapPad Manager app just isn't working out for me. Got it to connect and all, but at the video maker screen I just simply can not drag and drop any videos from any location under any user to the "step 1" area. And recklessly have tried dropping it all over the video maker screen.. Anywhom, maybe on the next update just add a browse button? Anyways, yeah... lol

Yes for some reason there are things that block being able to drag and drop, but have not pinned down the exact issue. I believe most of it is running it as admin and disable UAC. I will see about doing a browse function in a future release to make things easier for people.

Hi, I have managed to put videos on my sons leap pad 2 but.over the video player icon I have a red cross with the letter miss on it. What have I done wrong?

Does the video still play? Did you follow the steps exactly? If the video still plays, then you may have simply messed up the icon or accidentally deleted it. When you start converting the video and then go to edit the video icon, keep the icon name the same and simply edit the picture. Close out the image and maybe even the graphic program to not lock up the image. When converting is done, then proceed with the steps.

Just wanted to give an update for a problem I found with the drag and drop feature in the video maker.
If you open up the leappad manager with administrator privileges the video maker WILL NOT ALLOW the drag and drop feature. Open the manager without admin privileges and this will allow the drag and drop. Follow the normal steps to create the videos. Then close the manager and reopen with admin privileges. Now you can connect to the device and install your apps/videos.

Ah thank you for that information. I do plan on making it easier for alternatives such as clicking a file open button instead of only Drag/Drop. I just have not had any time and unsure how many people are actually using the app.
