Just to reiterate the point that if you grab the Debug version posted above, you will still need the SCSI.dll and Helper.dll files from your previous Leapfrog Manager version.

It's working a treat. I hope you W8 users can give Deak some feedback and get this problem resolved.
Check out the new' install apps from "install" feature' too. Should eliminate drag 'n' drop issues!

Hello everyone I'm having trouble connecting my leap pad ultra to the leap pad manager program it keeps saying "can't connect device" I have tried every suggestion made in this thread but no luck.

Make sure the official software is not running. I have had someone able to make it work by enabling the administrator account and logging in as that on windows 7

Yes open up task.manager and kill the process monitor.exe.

I have never seen that before. Are you running Windows 7 or 8 and is it 64 bit? Do you have anything weird plugged in to your computer like dvd drives, external usb drives, flash drives etc?

I have someone helping me out with some code since I lack extra time and will do another public release which should help others with connect issues and have some new features.

It is Windows 7 64 Bit OS. Nothing other than the leappad ultra is connected.

I have just uploaded a new version. You can run the app and choose check for update to load the download page. After you download the new version, load it and choose Settings, then set the log output level to Full. Save it and then try to connect to your Ultra.

This is when you choose to connect to the device right? I assume the app loads fine, just not connecting.... When you hit connect, does it show any debug information in the window of the app? Does it let you continue or does this error just kill the app? Any screenshots?
